Hi! I'm Maggie Leone I'm a sophomore at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I'm a double major in communication studies and classical studies with a concentration in classical civilization and a minor in archaeology. I recently discovered a deep love for classical architecture and Roman History in general during my years here at college. That interest in Rome has pushed me to focus my studies in Classics and take on a study abroad trip to Rome, Italy this summer!
As someone who is passionate about Rome and and its influences I chose to focus my research project on how the great empire has impacted Americas own Civil War architecture. I think this is really fascinating because while we don't usually equate Rome and the Civil War it had such a major impact on the architecture and design of the period and even in architecure all over America.
